04 OUTCOMES Understanding of the European statelessness ecosystem improved Participants gained insight into diverse national and regional contexts, revealing both common barriers – such as inconsistent identification, inflexible documentation requirements, and institutional misunderstanding – and context- and communityspecific challenges affecting groups such as Palestinians, Roma communities, children, and others. Lived expertise shared during discussions vividly illustrated how bureaucratic obstacles translate into everyday exclusion. Many participants emphasised the value of seeing the whole ecosystem together, breaking down siloed perspectives and deepening empathy and strategic understanding. “The diversity of roles and countries in the room helped me see the whole ecosystem, not just my corner.” Cross-sectoral and transnational relationships nurtured The conference functioned as a trust-building and coalition-forming space. In a challenging funding environment, participants repeatedly stressed the need to cooperate rather than compete, share resources and build solidarity across borders. Evaluation data shows that networking and relationship-building were among the most valued outcomes. Participants highlighted new partnerships, strengthened alliances, and the irreplaceable value of inperson convening for building trust and momentum.
