In 2024, growth in private sector funding, while continuing on the long-term upwards trend, slowed compared to recent years. UNHCR has targeted raising $750 million from the private sector in 2025, with half of this expected to be softly earmarked or unearmarked funding, demonstrating the importance of the private sector in providing flexible funds to UNHCR. 21 UNHCR GLOBAL APPEAL 2025 UNHCR’s focus on developing and diversifying fundraising initiatives has begun to see positive results. We have seen important growth in planned campaigns compared to emergency fundraising, which provides more predictable income. UNHCR’s organizational priority of responding to climate change will see the private sector take an integral role in the goal of raising $100 million by the end of 2025 through the Climate Resilience Fund.
