Note on Contributors Elaine Alam is a development and human rights practitioner in Pakistan, working in the sector since 2007. She is also the founder member and Secretary General of Formation, Awareness and Community Empowerment Society (FACES) Pakistan. She has extensive experience in poverty reduction programmes and community development in both policy and practice and specialises in Development Management. She is also currently one of the key actors providing technical support to the human rights policy and implementation authorities in Punjab province. Tehani Ariyaratne is a researcher, currently based in Sri Lanka. She holds a Masters degree in Human Rights and Democratisation, and has a decade of experience working in the development and human rights sectors in South Asia. Her research areas include women’s labour and migration, environmental justice and women’s access to justice. Jeevan Baniya has an MA from GSIS Ajou University, South Korea, and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oslo, Norway. He is the Assistant Director of Social Science Baha, Kathmandu where he is involved in proposal writing, planning and implementing research projects, writing articles and reports, coordinating research projects, supervising researchers, and liaising with partners and stakeholders, among others. He has also been serving as a faculty member at Tribhuvan University (TU), where he teaches Masters and PhD degree courses and supervises students in dissertation work. He has published books, book chapters, articles, and research papers on labour and migration, democracy, peace and conflict, gender and social inclusion, disasters, etc.
