This 2017 press release details Chile's pledge to eradicate statelessness in its territory, and accede to the 1954 and 1961 Conventions. The pledge took place at a ceremony in the capital celebrating the restoration of Chilean nationality of a number of youths who were at risk of statelessness. The ceremony was made possible by the work of Legal Clinics by Diego Portales University and Alberto Hurtado University, the Migrant Jesuit Service, and Open Society Justice Initiative.
