Upcoming Events On 4-5 May 2017, the European Network on Statelessness will hold a major conference in Budapest, with UNHCR’s support, to launch a new report and kick-start concerted, region-wide advocacy aimed at protecting stateless persons from arbitrary detention. Also in May, ECOWAS and UNHCR intend to organise a Ministerial level regional conference to validate a regional Plan of Action and timetable with respect to implementation of the Abidjan Declaration on the Eradication of Statelessness.
