Founded in 2014 ISI’s work combines research, training, advocacy, creating knowledge tools, information-sharing and building strategic L-R: Katie Robertson and Amal de Chickera, ISI London alliances. Working across two offices, in London ofCice and the Netherlands, ISI’s work for the last 5 years has been focused on four key goals, the first of which is to realise every child’s right to a nationality. ISI’s work addressing childhood statelessness is driven by the goal of holding states accountable for failing to protect and fulfil every child’s right to a nationality. To do so ISI aims to strengthen the stateless literacy of child rights groups, directly engage children on statelessness, nationality and rights, mainstream the right to a nationality, and unpack and address childhood statelessness ‘sticky issues’.xcv Most recently this has included the coordination of the 2023 Awareness Month on Childhood Statelessness and Education across 13 countries globally.
