Description: This BADIL working paper examines Israel’s policies of segregation, fragmentation, and isolation as mechanisms of forced population transfer in Palestine. It analyses how these practices undermine Palestinian identity, cohesion, and self-determination by targeting both people and land. Case studies on Umm al-Fahm and Bethlehem illustrate the use of transportation systems and infrastructure to fragment Palestinian society while strengthening Israeli-Jewish dominance.
