All respondents were informed of the purpose of the study and the potential benefits and risks of participating, and all respondents provided informed consent prior to participating. The research team noted that the informed consent process was crucial to building trust with respondents, who were generally wary of discussing these sensitive topics at the outset. Data was collected on smart phones using the Kobo Collect data collection application. Qualitative interviews were audio recorded and sent to the project coordinator. Recordings were then immediately deleted from Rohingya researcher phones to ensure the security of responses. No names or identifying information were collected on survey forms. Data Analysis Quantitative data was exported from Kobo Collect and analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Data was cleaned and coded, and the Rohingya project coordinator ran the initial quantitative analysis with support from international researchers. Qualitative data was transcribed and translated into English. A volunteer team, that included YCR team members and international volunteers, created a coding framework and coded all qualitative data. Codes were then reviewed and important themes and exemplary quotes were identified and recorded in code summaries. 22
