Statelessness is called a “scourge” by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The campaign’s success depends on regional and local implementation. This essay examines how the GAP has been applied in the Americas, a region identified as having the potential to end statelessness first, and evaluates its progress toward achieving the 2024 goal.
