The author of the communication is D.Z., born on 18 February 2010 without a recognized nationality. He claims that, by his nationality being registered by authorities of the State party as “unknown” since his birth, and by leaving him with no prospect of acquiring a nationality, the State party has violated his rights under article 24, read alone and in conjunction with article 2 (2) and (3), of the Covenant. The Optional Protocol entered into force for the State party on 11 March 1979.
