This report, covering 2024, reviews statelessness in Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, Liberia, and Togo under the UNHCR Multi-Country Office for Côte d’Ivoire. Over 900,000 people in Côte d’Ivoire and many more in the region remain stateless or at risk due to weak civil registration, discriminatory laws, and migration histories. Actions included Côte d’Ivoire drafting a national bill on statelessness, issuing nationality confirmations and birth certificates, and extending late birth registration. Regional initiatives in Benin, Ghana, and Togo provided documentation, while awareness activities in Côte d’Ivoire reached 20,000 people.
