Description: This policy framework builds on the original AU Migration Policy Framework adopted in 2006 in response to migration’s development challenges and opportunities. It focuses on eight key pillars — migration governance, labour migration, diaspora engagement, border governance, irregular migration, forced displacement, internal migration, and migration and trade — along with eleven cross-cutting issues to address Africa’s dynamic migration landscape.
