Learn about statelessness and nationality issues, and share this knowledge with colleagues. 2. Use existing tools and resources (or create new ones) to identify statelessness and risk of statelessness accurately and refer affected people to the appropriate procedures or legal assistance. 3. Demonstrate understanding of statelessness in interviewing and decision-making, and take appropriate approaches to help stateless people overcome the hardships they experience. 4. Apply laws and policies flexibly in favour of stateless people wherever possible. 5. Ensure that the fundamental human rights and best interests of children are adequately considered and protected, in accordance with applicable international law. 70
