Italy: Information for stateless people and those at risk of statelessness fleeing Ukraine
Special Protection partially replaced the former ’Humanitarian Protection’ in 2018. It is reported that local
police authorities may confuse the two types of protection or erroneously consider that there are bureaucratic
impediments to grant or renew Special Protection permits.
