07 ACTION AREAS As summarised above, the conference achieved a series of interlinked outcomes that demonstrate how such gatherings contribute to impact in the European statelessness field, underscoring the importance of investing in collaborative, participatory spaces for relationship-building and changemaking. So what learning, actions, and recommendations are we taking into the future? Drawing on the multifaceted discussions, learning, and feedback we have identified five action areas arising from the conference: 1.We need donors, institutions, and other allies (e.g. civil society organisations working on nexus issues, corporates, and innovators) to consciously commit more resources and capacity to impacted communities and individuals, networks, and civil society organisations to strengthen and grow the statelessness ecosystem in Europe 2.We must all work to improve cooperation, coordination, and collaboration in these times of reduced funding and external political challenges, to reduce duplication, build solidarity, and increase collective impact (e.g. joint fundraising, coordinated advocacy initiatives) 3.We need more in-person gatherings where lived and learned expertise are equally valued, with more decision-makers in the room to strengthen the relational infrastructure for policy impact and systemic change, and codevelop concrete actions with the buy-in of those who can make that change happen 4.We need to harness the potential of digital tools and solutions to improve identification and protection of stateless people in Europe, forming new partnerships and bringing statelessness and tech expertise together to accelerate innovation and impact 5.Future events should protect spaces for honest, sometimes uncomfortable dialogue, build in more time for synthesis and joint action-planning, and be prepared to manage complex power dynamics
