Description: Rights Realization Centre (RRC), the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights (GCENR) and the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI) made this joint submission to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), on the right to a nationality and human rights challenges pertaining to statelessness in Qatar.

This submission focuses on: I. Gender discrimination in Qatar's nationality laws; II. Stateless communities and risks of statelessness in Qatar; III. Human rights violations committed as a result of revocation of citizenship; IV. Change of policy: restoration of citizenship; V. Returns to Qatar and threatened family separation following the GCC dispute: an open wound; and VI. The arbitrary deprivation of nationality of Qatari citizens.
