Engage with partners to address migration and related issues zz Build and sustain partnerships to enjoy a comprehensive understanding of migration and deploy effective strategies and actions, including with regional government institutions, local authorities, cities and municipalities; non-governmental actors, such as employers, unions, Diasporas, migrant associations, civil society, local community groups, religious organisations and academia; partner states, especially countries of origin, transit and destination for nationals and incoming migrants; and International and regional organisations that work on migration and related issues. zz Share best practices on migration governance, and current migration trends and realities (to ensure that migration frameworks and processes are in tune with current realities) within regional consultative processes, such as the Africa-Arab Technical Coordination Committee on Migration; the Migration Dialogue for West Africa (MIDWA); Migration Dialogue for the Common Market for Eastern and Southern African Member States (MIDCOM); Migration Dialogue for Southern Africa (MIDSA); and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Regional Consultative Process on Migration. iv. Employ migration governance to aid the socioeconomic well-being of migrants and society zz Engender stability and resilience, spur education, health and employment opportunities, and counter the drivers of forced migration, including by promoting resilience, thereby enabling individuals to make the choice between staying or migrating. zz To meet labour market needs, develop tailored labour migration opportunities, including permanent, temporary and circular migration for diverse skill levels, and aid the integration of migrants into their hosting communities and ensure that they have the same access as citizens to health care, psychosocial support, social services, education, basic public services and housing. zz Facilitate student mobility and family reunification. zz Provide reintegration assistance to returning migrants and displaced persons, including access to legal recourse for land and property claims. zz Ensure the portability of social security. zz Promote low-cost remittances transfers and opportunities for investment in home communities. zz Regulate recruiters and employers and ensure fair labour conditions. 31
