• Sahel Akkar is a coastal agricultural area.
• Most stateless are either located in central
villages, such as El Hissa and Massoudieh, or on
the border with Syria, from Aboudieh to Arida.
• In addition, a large number of Dom settlements
(Kouweikhat, Haouchab, Aboudieh) can be found
on the eastern fringes of the plains.
• The Sahel’s significant Alawite minority is also
affected by statelessness.
• Along with the Sunni community, they amount
to exactly 596 stateless individuals.
