Description: This evaluation confirms the vital importance of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to mainstream statelessness as a cross-cutting human rights issue and the only review mechanism whereby states themselves issue recommendations to other states on protecting the right to a nationality and the rights of stateless people. This report offers an analysis of the 3rd Cycle of the UPR to better understand how statelessness and the right to a nationality were treated by states along the process and to use these lessons learned for future cycles.
