The Director and staff are extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to tackling the issue. Using ENS’s report on detention of stateless people in the UK for training and advocacy and collaborating on the Statelessness Index have been particularly useful for me. Our membership spans a broad spectrum, from large international NGOs to smaller grassroots organisations: legal advice agencies, research and policy institutions, frontline service providers, detention specialists and several prominent international law experts. We have 125 members in 40 European countries (see shaded areas of map). CYNTHIA ORCHARD, STATELESSNESS POLICY AND CASEWORK COORDINATOR AT ASYLUM AID Our collaboration with ENS has enabled ASKV to take our statelessness work to the next level. We now have a strong coalition working on statelessness issues in the Netherlands supported by ENS’s strategic litigation programme, joint awareness raising work and the Statelessness Index. MARLOTTE VAN DAEL, PROJECT COORDINATOR & RESEARCHER AT ASKV REFUGEE SUPPORT ENS puts a much-needed spotlight on the circumstances that give rise to statelessness and its impact on people. The Statelessness Index will help us get the issue higher up the policy agenda and will be a valuable advocacy tool to push for further improvement in protection, prevention and reduction of statelessness in Serbia.
