STOP 5: NAPLES, ITALY Organisations and Individuals I Met With / Activities Engaged In: (a) Workshop: Stateless Legal Clinic Workshop, Federico II University, Naples Prof Flora Di Donato, Federico II University, Naples Law students of the Italian Stateless Legal Clinics (Naples) Building on the workshop I engaged in in Rome, it was useful to observe one of the three Italian Stateless Legal Clinics in closer detail by visiting the staff and students of the clinic based in Naples. Staff and students invited me for a workshop to learn more about the clinic’s operation and key case studies that they are currently working on. I was also invited to provide a presentation on the work of the Australian Stateless Legal Clinic. In collaboration with the University of Rome "Tre", the International University College of Katie Robertson with Students from the Italian Stateless Legal Clinic (Naples) Turin (IUC) and with the support of UNHCR, the Department of Law at the Federico II University in Naples provides stateless people (or people at risk of statelessness) with a help desk aimed at assistance and clinical-legal protection. The University of Naples Federico II is one of the oldest public universities in the world, established in 1224. The Department of Law undertakes multidisciplinary research across public and private law and legal history. The clinical-legal training course was established in 2017 by Prof Flora Di Donato with the objectives of connecting students to external institutions, creating interdisciplinary collaborations and empowering legally vulnerable clients.cxxx In 2021, with the assistance of UNHCR, the Stateless Legal Clinic was established as a partnership of three legal clinics at Napoli Federico II, Roma Tre and the International University College di Torino.
