Respondents were asked to indicate which identity documents they currently possessed, and which they had lost or never obtained. They were also asked why they had not applied to the relevant bodies to acquire or renew the documents (tables 7 and 8). For the 59 foreign citizens who said they had never had a foreign passport, the main problem appears to be the requirement of personal presence in another country. With regard to other documents, most of the respondents simply say they have never applied to the relevant bodies to restore or renew missing documents. This might be due either to the fact that migrants just do not know where to apply for renewal of those documents or that they are not important to them.
